About Marque


Originally from Atlanta, GA, Marque Carey is a graduate of Tennessee State University, cum laude, in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with minors in psychology and pre-law studies. Upon completion of his undergraduate schooling, Carey enrolled at the University of Louisville where he pursued a dual degree in law, at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law and a Master of Science in Social Work, from the Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work, receiving both his JD and MSSW in 2010. Carey was active in social and educational organizations during his time at both TSU and UofL.

Carey is a former Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Panel Trustee for the Western District of Kentucky. At the collegiate level, He has also taught as an adjunct instructor in the areas of: psychology, sociology, paralegal studies, criminal justice and general education. Carey has been a presenter at seminars for lawyers, youth groups, and other organizations.

Marque is currently managing member of Carey Law Office, PLLC, mainly focusing his practice in the areas of bankruptcy (debtor-creditor law), probate and estate planning, business organization formation and dissolution, and general civil litigation. He has represented both companies and individuals in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies and litigates in both federal and state courts. Carey volunteers with legal, civic and other philanthropic organizations. He is a sports fanatic and enjoys traveling.
